Bespoke Cinema Room Harrogate

Inglish Design recently completed a bespoke cinema room for a property in Yorkshire. The brief began with an empty room and the request by the cleint to transform the space into a usable family space. the design had to provide them with all of their entertainment needs, but also look great. As part of our Harrogate interior design services we space planned the room,  selected colours, materials and finishes so that we could transform the space into a beautiful bespoke home cinema room.Working alongside Harrogate Home Cinema we were able to ensure the very best technology was integrated in to the space.

The room was panelled all round in stained walnut panels – not as simple as it may sound as the rooms was neither square nor level ! The first stage was to stud out all walls, first fix all of the cables and plan the lovations of all of the home cinema equipment. We then added upholstered panels and acoustic lining to ensure that the room worked well with the sound systems as well as looking luxurious. A new lighting system was included to allow mood lighting on various settings. At the rear of the room there was an existing cupboard. We decided to use this for the equipment rack, while at the same time providing shelves for dvds. This room was paneled out and a walnut flooring laid. We then concealed this room behind panels, with an access door on touch catches. We even made a set of stairs for the client to use when accessing this room, which store neatly inside the cupboard.

At the front of the cinema room we created a large low level television cabinet. This was made in walnut with storage drawers on touch catches, space for dvd equipment and two concealed areas for the sub woofers. Harrogate Home Cinema supplied an enormous tv screen which was mounted on our walnut panels – a real feature to this end of the room – and a fantastic quality of picture and sound acheived by the Home cinema team.

The room was then fininshed with the existing door into the room being panelled in walnut to one side and mirror to the other to match the internal doors in the corridor outside the room.
