Bedrooms, Dressing rooms and clever use of your space !
Does your bedroom storage need a bit of reorganising ? Adding a dressing room area or some new wardrobes /storage can not only make things more organised, but also add value to your home. Designing many homes in Harrogate and North Yorkshire at Inglish Design we see an increasing trend to including a dressing room as part of a master bedroom suite. Automatically most people think they do not have space for a dressing room. However, with careful consideration, a dressing room can be added to an existing master bedroom, for example in a hallway space leading into a master bedroom, an unused cupboard. Even an alcove can be designed to become a custom made dressing room area. Look at your home carefully, all buildings are unique, and often when you live in a space you forget areas under stairs, alcoves or storage cupboards full of junk. These can easily be transformed. Similarly a spare bedroom, that sits empty all year round can be modified to add a dressing room space. It may even be that you reconsider your bedroom and re design this to have more usable wardrobe space. Once you find an area the space planning for functionality is key, and so at Inglish Design of Harrogate we are very lucky that as well as being skilled furniture manufacturers we are also qualified interior designers. We can utilise any shape and size of space, providing worthwhile storage.
Whether you decide to work on a new bedroom layout or use a a space for an additional dressing room, Inglish Design of Harrogate can make bespoke wardrobes to create the perfect solution. Our wardrobes and dressing rooms are made to measure and built to last. Wardrobes can be made with doors or can be designed to be open in style as “walk in wardrobes”. Simple wardrobes, open shelving or drawers can be included, and every area of each wardrobe can be designed designed to provide differing sections for various types of clothes, shoes and accessories. Shoe racks, handbag drawers, tie racks, jewellery drawers, dressing tables and custom designed integrals are included alongside hanging rails and adjustable shelving. Inglish Design often include lighting within the bedroom furniture designs and wardrobes, and can also integrate home safes, lockable filing drawers and home security systems. When designing dressing rooms we look at the available space and listen to our clients needs. If the space restricted it needs to be entirely functional, if you are lucky to have a large dressing room, then we may include seating, a central island for lingerie, or a dressing table. However, a dressing room doesn’t need to be enormous. What it must have is clever space planning for storage and a practical layout, good lighting, and a mirror. Most dressing rooms will provide his and hers storage, so we will establish early on in the design process exactly what each person needs in their wardrobes, and sometime even who needs the most space !!
Painted dressing room furniture is a popular choice for a light airy classic look. All of our hand painted furniture is finished in Farrow and Ball paint, so you have a beautiful pallette of colours to choose from. Dark Walnut dressing room furniture creates a dramatic look. And Oak wardrobes provide an element of warmth to a dressing room. We have also made bedrooom furniture and dressing rooms in timbers such as Maple & Cherry, exotic timbers such as Macasser and Zebrano, and in high gloss painted finishes. Because our dressing rooms are bespoke we can manufactur in many timbers and finishes. we have included all sorts of internal details to walk in wardrobes and dressing rooms. This can include glass fronted and smoked glass drawers, and mirror backed wardrobes and cabinets for extra glamour.
