Why use a bespoke cabinetmaker ?
Why should homeowners consider going the custom route rather than buy off-the-shelf stock cabinets?
The two biggest factors for choosing to use a cabinetmaker is attention to detail in the design phase and having the ability to have complete flexibility in the project design, alongside quality craftsmanship. Special sizing constraints, uncommon wood types or finishes, and complicated design elements are not an issue when choosing a custom cabinetmaking company. When you order “off the shelf solutions” you have to stick to standard cabinet sizing, and limited materials and colours available. This limits your choices in many ways and creates a lot of unused space that you won’t run into if you go the custom route. Custom guarantees that your designer is always working with a fresh, new perspective and you’re getting something uniquely you. The outstanding difference is quality. A cabinetmaker is not mass producing componenets, furniture is made using time tested techniques, and good quality materials.
Never is the difference more prevelaint than in the world of painted furniture. As painted bookcases and furniture and even kitchens have become more popular and fashionable, high street furniture stores and retailers have tried to quickly respond. The result is furniture mass made using poor materials which is then poorly painted, often spray painted. Soft wood is used or sheet material which does nto stand the test of time for durability or strength.
At Inglish Design our cabinetmakers are high trained and qualified. We are not joiners. We manufacture to our own designs, which are led by our clients requirements. We have a reputation not only for design flair and quality, but also customer service. Painted furniture is generally hand painted using Farrow and Ball paints, or can be spray painted. At Inglish Design we can use any timber you wish, and painted furniture frames are made of solid beech or poplar. Drawer boxes are solid timber, generally oak or walnut.
We have a showroom displaying examples of our cabinetmaking skills and kitchens, which our clients can visit by appointment. If you would like to visit our showroom please call us on 01423 864951 or email us.
