In the days before fridges, nearly all homes had a larder, but today it’s something of a luxury. And while few of us can afford the space for a walk-in pantry at Inglish Design we have found that standalone pantries are on the rise. With a vintage feel and our matt eggshell paint finish, an Inglish Design pantry  will suit new or old homes and is pretty versatile – as well as food, you can stack crockery or baking equipment in it.Often we design to include blenders or mixing machines, or small kitchen gadgets with a socket to allow them to be used in the cabinet. The trend for large open plan kitchens a

nd kitchen/living spaces has increased the demand for pantry cabinets. A pantry provides a one stop storage location for dry foods, baking supplies,and  spices. Often we include a “cold shelf”, this is a throw back to such shelves used in traditional walk in pantries. A slab of marble stays cool, and while not providing refridgeration, it will provide a below room temperature place to rest many ingredients. A pantry cabinet can also double up as the dresser for a kitchen and can be used to store crockery, or even less frequently

used items such as mixing bowls and baking trays.

At Inglish Design we believe that there’s something quite nostalgic about a kitchen larder, stashed full of homemade jams, pickles, spices and biscuits. We include spice racks for the back of our cabinet doors, deep drawers, adjustable shelves, and can bespoke design every cabinet to suit each clients requirements.
