Well, the style is distinctive yet timeless. Its simplicity  runs alongside the painted kitchen perfectly, the look is one of clean lines and functionality. The Shaker style of furniture began in America,  but migrated to  England in the late 1700’s. This religious movement was one of simplicity, and the shakers lived their lives in an orderly manner. So its easy to see why the underlying principles of Shaker design have given inspiration to some of the finest designers of modern furniture and architects.  A shaker style kitchen will suit any home, from a Georgian home to a modern new build. Generally our shaker painted  kitchens are “in frame” kitchens, so each door is hinged to a frame with butt hinges. An “in frame” kitchen offers the user longevity, as the kitchen becomes furniture. With an “in frame” kitchen door the strength of the doors is far superior than if it were  flush mounted to the carcass like many “off the shelf” kitchens, as the door cannot drop.  The frame can include an external edge beading for extra detail, or can be left as a plain framed kitchen.A shaker style painted kitchen fits comfortably into open plan living spaces, and can follow through easily to to co-ordinating furniture such as dressers, tables and even kitchen study or living room areas.

Oak kitchens  and walnut kitchens also look fantastic with shaker style doors. Often Inglish Design make combined material kitchens – so oak and painted kitchens or walnut and painted kitchens. The rich tones of the wood compliment the soft tones of a hand painted kitchen perfectly. Polished chrome handles have returned to the market with a high quality finish and contemporary style, and the shaker style cup handle is now a popular choice for our painted kitchens.
