Custom Made Bookcases made in Harrogate
Inglish Design are well known for our beautiful bespoke bookcases. These have featured in many editorial pieces and indeed helped us win awards with the likes of Houzz.co.uk . All of our bookcases are custom made to measure and generally hand painted bookcases. All are made in our bespoke furniture and kitchen workshops in Knaresborough near Harrogate.
A bookcases doesn’t simply need to hold books ! When we design our bookcases we approach our clients with an open mind, and try to get a feel for the furniture providing them with lots of things not just a place for books to live. Often our clients wish to include a television, home cinema or music system with their bookcases, and we will make to measure all cabinets to suit the access and size requirements of all equipment. We also include lighting in most of our bookcases, this can be throughout all of the bookcase or in feature areas. Lights can be set on dimmers, controlled with the room lights, via remote control or via a switch mounted on the bookcases.
Bookcases can also provide useful storage, and often Inglish Design bookcases will have cupboards or even drawers to the bottom section. These can be used for larger books, records, dvds and cds, or we have even included designated storage space for other things relating hobbies or collectors items.
Inglish Design manufacture home office and study furniture and a bookcase can provide the perfect back drop for such a room. We can then include filing drawers, printer cupboards, pull out keyboard trays and home safes within the bookcases. Study furniture can be made to match including partners desks, filing cabinets, gun cabinets, and display cabinets.
Bookcases within a bedroom are a great addition to a childs bedroom or playroom. Books and toys can be stored or displayed, and we can even integrate drawers for clothes into the base sections of the bookcases.
Hand painted bookcases are very popular particularly in living rooms and dining rooms. We can also make oak bookcases, or walnut bookcases, or indeed use any timber for either contemporary or traditional bookcases.
